We think it is best to remove the skin on cucumber because there are cases where cucumber skin tend to have a high amount of pesticides that can be dangerous for dogs to digest.
Can Cavapoos Eat Cucumber Seeds?
When it comes to certain vegetables and fruits, for example grapes, the seeds are considered to be toxic for dogs. The good news is that it’s not the same for cucumber seeds because dogs are allowed to eat them, but even though it is said to be safe for them, we think it would be best if you remove the seed before feeding your cavapoo. Not doing so may lead to your furry friend having sensitive stomach and diarrhea over time.
How Many Cucumbers Can Cavapoos Eat?
When feeding your cavapoo we always recommend that you follow the 10 percent rule. It is said that treats in general should only make up 10 percent of the calories in your dog’s daily diet. Ofcourse, you should take the size of the dog’s in consideration as well.
With that said, fresh cucumbers only has about 1% of sugar weight, and one cup of chopped cucumber has about 1 gram of sugar, 1 gram of dietary fiber and 16 calories. This is why cucumber is considered to be a great treat for dogs who are suffering from diabetes.
