Can Schnoodle Eat Grapes? Read More!

One thing you will find is that every dog owner loves the idea of sharing their snacks with their furry friend. Though it is fine to do so, you might want to take into consideration the type of food you are sharing since not all foods are safe for Schnoodle to eat. A common question asked by most people is, can Schnoodle eat grapes?

Can Schnoodle Eat Grapes?

The short answer to the question is no, we don’t think it would be a great idea to feed Schnoodle grapes because they are very well known to be toxic for a variety of dog breeds including Schnoodle. According to research, it is said that about a third of all dogs are affected negatively by grapes.

If somehow your dog mistakenly eats grapes in large amounts, it can result in a fatal situation for your dog. Another thing you should know is that raisins are known to be dried grapes and can be just as fatal as eating fresh grapes. This means that you should refrain from even feeding your dog’s raisins as well.

What About Other Grape Products

It doesn’t matter if the grape is fresh, dried, fermented, cooked, or processed in any way, it remains poisonous for Schnoodles.

It’s safe to say that all products made from grapes are bad for dogs to consume, including grape juice, raisins, jelly, and wine.

This is why it is important to check the food that you are feeding your dog at all times just to see if it contains any grapes. If it does, you may want to keep it away from your Schnoodle.

Cause of Poisoning

Can Schnoodle Eat Grapes

It might be surprising but up to this date, it’s hard to tell what is causing the toxicity in grapes. There are scientists out there that think the flesh of the fruit is the main culprit but that’s hard to prove because even the grape seeds are toxic or why even peeled grapes are so lethal.

But one thing for sure that everyone can certainly agree on is that grapes are bad for dogs in general to consume, so you shouldn’t feed your dog grape at all costs.

Symptoms of Grape Poisoning in Schnoodles

The symptoms tend to vary a lot from dog to dog. However, these symptoms are what you would normally notice in Schnoodle:

  • Diarrhea – This is without a doubt one of the main symptoms that your dog is likely to experience. Also, the content of your dog may contain pieces of grapes
  • Vomiting – A couple of hours after consuming grapes, your dog may start to experience vomiting. When you look carefully, you’re likely to see remains of grapes.
  • Weakness – One thing we can all agree on is that Schnoodles are active dogs, so if they begin to behave lazy and weak, then there’s a high chance they have ingested grapes.
  • Appetite Loss – At this point, your Schnoodle will begin to lose their appetite and become irritated whenever you try to feed her.
  • Seizure – It may be a case where your Schnoodle starts to experience seizures.

If somehow your dog is experiencing the following symptoms above, we highly recommend that you get them checked out by the vet immediately just to be on the safe side.

Alternatives to Schnoodle Eating Grapes

We don’t ever recommend feeding your dog grapes as it can be harmful to them, while there are so many other food options available out there on the market.
